NGO Atina working with survivors of human trafficking in Serbia receive IT equipment

A donation of IT equipment (9 laptops, 4 computers and 2 projectors) was made to the Centre for Human Trafficking Victims’ Protection and NGO Atina - Citizens Association for combating trafficking in human beings and all forms of gender-based violence providing assistance and shelter to survivors of human trafficking in Serbia by the joint European Union/Council of Europe action “Preventing and combating trafficking in human beings in Serbia“. The equipment will help assistance providers operate more efficiently and improve access to information for trafficking survivors hosted in shelters and safe houses and their eventual reintegration.

At the delivering of the equipment on 7 and 8 April 2022, Mirjana Majstorovic, Project Officer in the Council of Europe Office in Belgrade met with Aleksandra Ljubojevic, Director of the Centre for Human Trafficking Victims’ Protection and Marijana Savic, Director of NGO Atina and discussed the current situation in the area of human trafficking in Serbia, as well as opportunities for further co-operation.

The action "Preventing and combating trafficking in human beings in Serbia" is implemented within the joint European Union-Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022”, with the aim of improving responses to human trafficking and measures to protect its victims, mainly through capacity building for and awareness raising of key anti-trafficking actors in Serbia.
