Recognizing criminal offense of human trafficking in Vranje
Local team for prevention and combating human trafficking organized a training on May 10, 2019, in Medical High School “Dr Isabel Emslie Hutton“ in Vranje, intended primarily for the expert workers and associates of elementary schools and high schools, representatives of the Local team for prevention and combating human trafficking of the city of Vranje, and other relevant actors in charge of early detection and provision of assistance and protection to potential victims of human trafficking.

In cooperation with the Austrian Embassy in Belgrade, Citizens Association “Atina“ organized a Round table on Friday, April 12, 2019 in the premises of the Embassy on the topic “Importance of the role of local responses to the challenges of human trafficking“, which brought together 40 professionals, representatives of the state and nongovernmental sector, as well as international organizations active in this field.

Canvas painting as a symbolic support to women
KIKINDA – Within the project "Support to Women", at Kikinda city square a public activity of a huge canvas painting has been organized, as a symbolic support to women.
The idea of activists was to engage the citizens of Kikinda of all generations in this painting.
Painting is part of the project "With and For Girls", which is jointly realized by the Citizens’ Association "Atina" from Belgrade and the Youth Office from Kikinda. By the end of April, as announced, several similar activities will be organized in Kikinda.

“With and For Girls"
At the city square in Kikinda, a public action took place yesterday within the project “With and For Girls’’, which is being implemented by Citizens’ Association Atina from Belgrade and Youth Office from Kikinda. Members of the Youth Office, as well as the citizens, painted the canvas in different colors and in that way showed their symbolic support to women.
This action was also joined by the citizens who wanted to leave a creative message, or give support to their loved ones:

Support to the victims of human trafficking through assisted housing service
The assisted housing service intended for victims of human trafficking was presented in the Red Cross premises. Assisted housing service is currently the only such licensed service in the territory of the Republic of Serbia.

The Network of Organizations for Children of Serbia (MODS) which brings together 101 organizations for the realization, protection and promotion of children's rights, expresses concern about the frequent and inadequate appearance of children in the media and political activities. Citizens Association Atina is a member and one of the founders of MODS.
